Translations |

| It is well known that the Japanese has the most stringent quality requirements
when it comes to acceptance test. Our full-time Japanese translators
are hired directly from Japan and have 5 to more than 10 years
of technical translation experience. Separated only by a one-hour
time difference, our Japanese translators in Singapore can directly
communicate with clients and reviewers in Japan over the telephone
to clarify requirements, build relationships and instill confidence,
so important in ensuring acceptance. |

Although the bulk of our clients are American and European companies,
we do service Japanese customers in Japan, which testify to

| Chinese

| As
a specialist in Chinese translation, we understand well the
linguistic differences between the Chinese language, as used
in China, Taiwan, Hong Kong and Singapore. |
|
| Simplified Chinese is used in China and Singapore; Traditional Chinese
is used in Taiwan and Hong Kong. Simplified Chinese and Traditional
Chinese use entirely different codes pages and scripts. Furthermore,
there are significant stylistic and terminology differences
between the Chinese languages used in the different regions. |
|
| In the field of IT, for example, as computerization took off after China
switched to Simplified Chinese, while Taiwan remained with Traditional
Chinese, even the most common computer terms such as “computer”,
“mouse”, “window” do not share the same
translation. |
|
| As a rule, we use different translators for the different regions, to

| Yet, we recognize that translating for the different Chinese versions
is costly, especially for large volume technical documentation;
and despite their differences, the languages share strong similarities.

| We pioneer a way of leveraging between the two Chinese languages in
1993 for Informix, combining internal software tools with a
team of PRC Chinese and Taiwan Chinese native translators, which
brings substantial cost savings to our clients. We presented
the approach in the first Asian LISA (Localization Industry
Standards Association) forum held in Singapore, long before
other companies, adopted a similar approach. |

that although Singapore and China both use Simplified Chinese,
there are significant terminology and stylistic differences
in usage that should not be overlooked. Documents intended for
the Singapore audience should be translated/reviewed by a Singaporean
Chinese translator, not a PRC Chinese translator. Even when
translating for the Singapore market, we fine-tune the level
of complexity of the Chinese language used to suit the intended
audience - heartlanders or the Chinese educated professionals. |
